APDA is a 501 c 3 (tax exempt) corporation founded for public benefit and operates to accomplish a well-defined, articulated mission. Our programs effectively and efficiently work toward achieving that mission and we are committed to continuous quality improvement. Based on the values of quality, responsibility, and accountability, our board members, volunteers, and employees act in the best interest of achieving the organization''s mission at all times.
Mission Statement
A. Mission
The Mission of the Association of Peyronie's Disease Advocates is to function as the Bridge:
- Between the public and the Medical community. We believe that by building a foundation based upon Commitment, Communication, and Cooperation, a Cure can be found.
- That Supports and Fosters Research in partnership with the Medical Community in finding successful treatments and a cure for Peyronie’s Disease.
- That Provides Support, Information, and Referral Sources for the patient and His Family.
- That will educate the public about Peyronie's Disease and help establish community support and advocacy networks.
- That Networks with and Supports other organizations who are interested in helping us achieve our objectives.
B. Program Service and Quality
- APDA shall act with the utmost professionalism and treat all persons equally and with respect.
- APDA shall regularly monitor the satisfaction of service participants as well as other parts of the organization''s constituencies and provide a grievance procedure to address complaints.
- APDA shall practice continuous quality improvement that includes evaluation and tracking of information.
C. Values
- APDA shall act with integrity, openness, and honesty in all relationships, dealings, and transactions. Our nonprofit shall strive to earn and convey trust through integrity, openness, and honesty.
- APDA shall keep faith with the public trust through efficient, cost-effective, and compassionate stewardship of resources. APDA shall be mindful that its mission is accomplished through the generosity of others.
- APDA shall ensure that policies and procedures of human relations are legally grounded, of high quality, and respectful of the dignity and rights of individuals.
D. Commitment to Diversity, Accessibility, and Social Justice
- APDA shall respect all people''s race, religion, ethnicity, gender, age, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and ability and shall not allow differences to affect a person's opportunities.
- APDA's board, staff, volunteers, and contractors shall reflect the diversity of the organization's constituencies and the broader community.
- APDA shall conduct its work in facilities that allow reasonable access to persons of all ability levels.
- APDA shall act in ways that further the equality of opportunity among individuals and communities.
- APDA shall act in ways that promote a sustainable environment.
E. Policies
- APDA shall, at least biennially, revisit our mission to determine if the need for our services continues to exist. Our organization shall evaluate whether the mission needs to be modified to reflect societal changes; whether the organization's current programs should be revised or discontinued in light of the existing or newly defined mission; or whether new services need to be developed.
- APDA shall have defined, replicable procedures in place for evaluating (both qualitatively and quantitatively) our processes and outcomes in relation to our mission. These procedures shall address the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of processes and outcomes.
